WAITING AND WATCHING

"Or the return of the sketcher"

Long time with no new sketches, and today (or tonight) is the moment to upload my recent work. While I was waiting for someone at MARCO Museum, I couldn't resist the oportunity of sketching again, and yes, it was a sweet return.

In the left side you can see a view of the church at Macroplaza, in Monterrey, there were interesting trees to draw. And by the right side there is the Juan Soriano's Sculpture that welcomes visitors at MARCO Museum. So, I hope you enjoy this.

7o Festival Internacional de Música Contemporánea.
"Or the night I met Carlos Prieto"
Last Wednesday a friend of mine invited me to a concert at Marco Museum. The main event were the two cello players Carlos Prieto (Mexico) and Alvaro Britan (Chile). Both fantastic players since the begining 'til the end. Their new music they played created several environments full of energy and great harmonies. I decided to start sketching them in action and here are the results, at the end of the concert they signed my sketches. I can say this experience was incredible and talking with Carlos Prieto, the mexican greatest cellist, is an honor.

MACROPLAZA'S BUILDINGS

An excellent sunday afternoon to spent at Macroplaza, too many people, families and buildings... oh yes. After two hours and a little bit more, I decide to stop it. Maybe I should try to do it faster. However, excellent time for all of you.

I like buses with sits in the opposite direction that the others have, I can saw the face so I can sketch easily. So this is the result.

MACROPLAZA IN THE AFTERNOON
"Or sketch after work"
Yesterday I leave at 6:00 pm of my work, the weather was perfect: sunny, some clouds, kind of windy, people on the streets, entire families taking a walk after seeing the Pixar's exhibition in MARCO museum... Fantastic. While I was walking trough the Macroplaza I noticed a group of people watching some clowns doing a short presentation, so I decided to sit under a lamp and start drawing.

The guy with stripes talked to me after seeing my work, Carlos is a clown of 17 years old with a year of being clown, he was nervous because there were many people standing and watching the street show. He return three times too see the advance in the sketch when he finally aske me to lend him my sketchbook and showed to the guy at his right in this image. He is also a clown with 9 years of experience, he has travel around the country in different kind of events. At the end he looked at me and show his tumb up.

Interesting times with people I had yesterday. I would like to do it again. Let's see what happens.

LINARES' CHURCH
"Or discovering my state"
The last weekend I had the chance to visit Linares, Nuevo León. The city has beautiful architechture that caught my atention, the Gobernment Palace, this church I draw, a classic drugstore of the XIX century... a visual pleasure.
I recommend to have some time in Linares, and try the taste of its Bakery, pretty delicious. It's all for today. Have a good time.

LAS CASAS DE LADRILLOS
"Or the houses of brick"
I think that is some kind of obvious why people called this space like that... Coincidence maybe? I'm not sure at all... However, I can say that these are the houses I wanted to draw for this time, and I really enjoyed.
Special thanks to Zazú for lending me her watercolor pencils. This is my first time with them... oh my god. And yes. I can say this is all for this night.

JOSE LUIS CUEVAS IN MONTERREY
"Or the pleasure of seeing an artist"
On thursday 26th I had the oportunity to asist at the inauguration of "Jose Luis Cuevas en Bronce". Cuevas is 75 years old, and he's a beautiful person to know; always doing something, giving a smile for almost everything, and he's in love with Monterrey. Cuevas is one of the best contemporary artist in Mexico, and I'm thankful for the chance I had to listen to him.

I had to draw pretty fast, and with visibility problems. The place started to get crowded and there were people standing and blocking what I needed to sketch, so it was kind of difficult to sketch that, but it was worthy. Greetings.

Paseo Santa Lucía

THE BEGINNING OF THE SKETCH
"Or trying another experience"
The first draw of a new kind of a project I'm working on. Thanks to Urban Sketchers to inspire me to sketch the world i'm just discovering. Well, this is the first of lots more, Santa Lucía is a very popular place in Monterrey to visit: an artificial lake, serenity, live street performances, harmonic structures, sculptures... One of my favorite places to have a peaceful time.
Well. This is oficially the inauguration of this Sketch-place. Enjoy!
